Next to the version number on the help tab there is a message saying "Could not check for new version"

Version check is done by screen-scraping http://servicemon.codeplex.com/releases/ but CodePlex often change the format of this page!
Instead, plan to host our own page containing the latest version and use this. It will be more reliable
